Postdoctoral Associates - Martin Lab
We are currently looking for two enthusiastic, self-motivated Postdoctoral Associates to work in the laboratory of Dr. Andy Martin at the University of California, Berkeley. The Martin lab’s research focuses on the 26S proteasome and related protein translocases of the AAA+ ATPase family. In addition to processing misfolded, damaged, and incompletely translated proteins, the proteasome selectively degrades a large variety of regularly proteins that are involved in cell-cycle control, cell differentiation, signal transduction, transcription, and other vital processes, making it an essential mediator of post-translational control. More information can be found on the lab’s website: http://mcb.berkeley.edu/labs/martin/
The Postdoctoral Associates will address exciting questions about the mechanisms of protein quality control, ATP-dependent protein unfolding and degradation, the ubiquitin-proteasome system, and ATPase motor function, and characterize the proteasome-degraded proteome. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have demonstrated the ability to work independently and have a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
