R. L'Heureux Lewis-McCoy and New York University's Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and Transformation of Schools invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral associate. The postdoctoral associate will work collaboratively with Dr. Lewis-McCoy and teams at RAND Corporation and Mathematica on evaluation of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's Networks for School Improvement portfolio.

We are seeking a postdoctoral associate to support our team in the following ways:

  Research on continuous improvement in schools

  Research on networks for school improvement

  Qualitative interviews and observations

  Qualitative analysis

  Project coordination and management (participant recruitment, scheduling, data management)

  Communication and coordination with partner organizations

  Develop research publications

  Develop foundation facing publications

  Assist Professor Lewis-McCoy in time-sensitive project-related reporting matters

The ideal candidate is committed to the study and address of race and class- based inequities in education. Additionally, they will have strong communication skills (writing, public speaking and digital communication), experience with community outreach, the ability to work well collaboratively, comfort in taking initiative, adept at meeting deadlines, creative problem solver, as well as the ability see the larger picture amidst working on smaller pieces.

Qualifications

  PhD, EdD, or equivalent (preference to degrees in social science and education)

  Previous experience with research on race, diversity, equity, and inclusion or related topics

  Previous experience conducting qualitative analysis, experience with comparative case studies and mixed methods preferred

  Previous experience working as part of a project team
