Position Summary
The Neurocognitive Measurement Laboratory (NML; PI Michael Thomas) within the CSU Department of Psychology seeks to hire a 2- to 3-year Postdoctoral Fellow to work on a NIMH-funded project (R01MH121546; An Adaptive Testing Platform for Optimizing RDoC Experimental Cognitive Measures). The Postdoctoral Fellow will help with all aspects of daily research operations including, but not limited to, recruitment, scheduling, running research participants through study protocols, analyzing data, and preparing research documents and manuscripts. Travel (when permitted) to research conferences and trainings will also be supported. The position will require regular (e.g., 1-2 times per week) travel to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver (approximately 1 hour south of Fort Collins by car). This position will have a tentative start date in the summer or fall of 2021.
Required Job Qualifications
- Ph.D. with a concentration in Clinical or Cognitive Neuroscience, Clinical Neuropsychology, or a related field. - Demonstrated experience administering structured clinical interviews or neuropsychological tests. - Record of scientific publishing and presentation.
Preferred Job Qualifications
- Advanced coding skills (Matlab, Python, or R). - Demonstrated experience in running task-based fMRI experiments. - Advanced training in statistics and measurement. - History of engaging in professional outreach, equity, and inclusion activities. - Demonstrated experience working with cognitively and/or psychiatrically impaired individuals - Record of first-author publications and/or grant applications.

Essential Duties
Job Duty Category Recruitment and scheduling
Duty/Responsibility
Work with study investigators and full-time research assistants to ensure that recruitment quotas are met.
Percentage Of Time 10 Job Duty Category Running research participants through study protocols
Participate in research appointments at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (1-2 times per week). This includes taking the lead role in administrating interviews, surveys, and tests (with the assistance of full- time research assistants). Work ethically and compassionately with patients diagnosed with schizophrenia and healthy comparison participants.
Percentage Of Time 30 Job Duty Category Data management
Advise and monitor both full-time and volunteer research assistants who are performing data entry, data cleaning (quality assurance), and MRI data preprocessing.
Percentage Of Time 10 Job Duty Category MRI and cognitive task data analysis
Analyze MRI and cognitive task data to ensure high quality data collection and to prepare findings for dissemination.
Percentage Of Time 20 Job Duty Category Preparing research documents and authoring manuscripts
Assist in the preparation of IRB and grant reports. Take a lead authorship role on multiple manuscripts per year. Participate as a co-author on multiple manuscripts per year.
