摘要:
Two Postdoctoral Positions : Dortmund, Germany

The Department of Systemic Cell Biology (Prof. Dr. Bastiaens) at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology in Dortmund is offering

Two postdoctoral positions

to work in the context of the research network Max-Syn-Bio that is funded by the BMBF and the Max Planck Society.

This research network aims at establishing the scientific foundations for the „bottom-up" synthesis of artificial cellular systems from biochemical functional modules. Main goal of the research performed at the MPI Dortmund in this context is the development of functional modules for the reconstitution of morphogenic membrane systems as well as the reconstitution of membrane-associated signalling and motility.

Postdoc position 1:
Reconstitution of intraluminal fission and fusion in GUV to mimic vesicular transport.

Postdoc position 2:
Generation and reconstitution of artificial transmembrane receptors and minimal signalling components in GUV that couple to the microtubule cytoskeleton to mimic signal-induced morphogenic processes.

These positions will work as a team to integrate all these modules in a reconstituted membrane system to generate an artificial "cell" that responds with morphological changes extracellular cues.

The positions are available as of now and are initially limited until July, 31st 2017. Financial compensation will be carried out according to the public service remuneration scheme TVöD.

The Max Planck Society is committed to employing more handicapped individuals and especially encourages them to apply.

The Max Planck Society seeks to increase the number of women in those areas where they are underrepresented and therefore explicitly encourages women to apply.
