摘要:

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Developmental Gut Biology and Gene Regulation

Roskilde University - Department of Science, Systems and Models

A 2-year post.doc position is available at the Department of Science, Systems and Models, Roskilde University.

The post doc will be enrolled in an on-going research programme focussing on revealing the molecular mechanisms in intestinal gene expression under normal and pathological conditions. For the research mammalian immortalised cell culture models as well as the primary minigut system will be used.

The purpose of the position is to decipher gen regulatory mechanisms underlying the pathophysiological mechanisms active in inflammatory bowel disease. More specifically the focus of the project will be 1) to correlate expression and IBD phenotypes of protein and mRNA of new gene expression variants identified in IBD patients to explore whether these can be used as a diagnostic tool, 2) to perform functional analysis the gene expression variants in the human cell culture and mini-gut organoid system exploring homeostasis and differentiation 3) to analyze the role of TNFa signaling and Unfolded protein response pathway on chosen gene expression variants.

We expect you to be a highly motivated and ambitious scientist with following qualifications:

  • PhD in molecular or developmental biology.
  • Expertise in molecular biology techniques, and tissue culture work. Experience with primary cultures and bioinformatics is desired.
  • Ability to communicate in written and spoken English is required.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience in attaining funding for programs in clinical and/or basic research is preferable.

We seek a scientist, who has a general interest in basic cell biological questions. We expect that you have the capacity to engage in team-work and that you have relevant experience with developmental, cell biological or biochemical techniques.

You will be part of a team at the Eukaryotic Cell Biology Laboratory at Roskilde University and an extensive network of Medical doctors at hospitals and professors and lectors other universities.

The Department of Science, Systems and Models employs 159 academic staff conducting research in diverse fields of natural sciences and is focused on inter-disciplinary studies. Laboratories contain contemporary facilities and equipment for molecular biological studies, several FACS instruments, an Ion Torrent PGM, fluorescence microscopes, and cell culture facilities (Biohazard level I and II) and we have permits for lentiviral studies. Furthermore, we have just moved into a new modern laboratory building.
