Population Genomics of Vector-borne Diseases : New Haven, CT, United States

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellow position to investigate the population genomics of vector-borne diseases. This position is a joint project involving the Center for Vector Biology & Zoonotic Diseases at The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station and the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at Yale University. The appointment is for one year with the possibility of additional funding contingent on research progress. The applicant will focus on the utility of genomic technologies to study the population structure of mosquitoes involved in transmission of eastern equine encephalitis virus in North America. Applicants must possess a PhD or equivalent and experience in genomics including the Illumina platform and a working knowledge of the methods for the processing of genomic data and associated statistical analyses. Familiarity with scripting (Perl, Python), object oriented (Java, C++), and statistical languages® will be beneficial. The salary and benefits are competitive.
