The Centre for Biological Signalling Studies BIOSS in Freiburg, Germany, is offering a postdoctoral position in Immunobiology and Receptor Studies in the laboratory of Molecular Immunology (Head: Prof. Dr. Michael Reth). This position is available initially for 2 years with the possibility of extension. BIOSS is a cluster of excellence at the University of Freiburg. The working language is English.

Your tasks: With Fab-PLA we have developed a new method to analyze the organization of membrane proteins and receptors in the 10-20 nm distances (Klasener et al. (2014). Elife 3: e02069). We want to explore the nanoscale organization of the major receptors on B lymphocytes and their mode of activation and are therefore seeking exceptional and highly motivated candidates.

Your qualification: The applicant should have a PhD and research experience in Molecular Biology, Immunology or Biochemistry. Prior experiences in receptor studies or superresolution technologies are advantageous. The ideal candidate should have a strong publication record, be able to provide evidence of his/her ability to work in a team as well as some experience in the supervision of graduate students or master students.
