  瑞典皇家理工学院招收博士后

KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm has grown to become one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities, as well as a key centre of intellectual talent and innovation. We are Sweden’s largest technical research and learning institution and home to students, researchers and faculty from around the world. Our research and education covers a wide area including natural sciences and all branches of engineering, as well as architecture, industrial management, urban planning, history and philosophy.

  The workplace

SciLifeLab is a national resource center dedicated to large scale bioscientific research with focus on biomedicine, including genome and proteome profiling, bioimaging and bioinformatics. SciLifeLab Stockholm has been formed jointly by the three Stockholm universities, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Karolinska Institutet (KI) and Stockholm University (SU), and thus combines the profiles and strengths of these three institutions. Academic research as well as the Swedish health care system and the Swedish Life Science industry will benefit through active collaboration, access to advanced tools and active programs for knowledge transfer. The goal is to achieve critical mass for large-scale life sciences and translational medicine.

  Project description

Systems biology is an interdisciplinary subject where the systems of biological components are studied using mathematical models, computational models and experimental technologies such as genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics and metabolomics. It includes application and development of systems biological methods with particular emphasis on integration, analysis and modelling of big data within the field of molecular biosciences.

Mardinoglu Lab at SciLifeLab develop Genome-scale metabolic models (GEMs) for human cells/tissues and employ these comprehensive models in the analysis of the omics data obtained from subjects with complex diseases including obesity, Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), Type 2 diabetes (T2D) and certain types of cancer (e.g. Hepatocellular Carcinoma). This is an exciting area of biomedical research, driven by the increase of common metabolic disorders as well as recent discoveries of metabolic reprogramming in cancer.

We are now seeking a postdoctoral researcher with strong experimental skills to be responsible for designing, performing, analyzing, and troubleshooting of molecular biology, biochemical and cell culture techniques to identify biomarkers and drug targets in aforementioned studies. The candidate is also expected to carry out project management tasks, budgeting and reporting. The candidate will be working closely with the computational groups as well as number of big pharma companies and clinical collaborators.

  Qualifications

  Requirements

A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.

A highly motivated candidate with a doctoral degree in biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, medicine or other relevant field, and a strong publication record.

The candidate should have wet lab competencies in molecular biology techniques and translational medicine research. The candidate should also be adept at cell culture techniques, high-throughput drug testing, assay development and -omics technologies as well as knowledge of analysis the data with relevant software.

The candidate should be highly motivated for doing scientific research related to human diseases and should have well developed analytical and problem-solving skills. Previous research expertise in obesity, Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, Type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancers would be advantageous.

The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
