An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School of Immunology & Microbial Sciences at King’s College London in the laboratory of Dr Annika Warnatsch. Dr Warnatsch investigates the role of neutrophil-mediated reactive oxygen production in antiviral inflammation. Specifically, the project will analyse the regulation of cytokine signalling, immune cell recruitment and organisation through reactive oxygen species localisation during influenza A virus infection. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr Warnatsch but also design, perform and interpret experimental protocols independently. The post-doc will be expected to be self-motivated, able to organise and self-direct in writing up and presenting results and findings. The post-doc will be expected to hold a PhD in a relevant area with a significant background in innate immunology, inflammation or virus infection. Previous experience with either viral infection or in vivo mouse models will be essential. Familiarity with flow cytometry and/or immunofluorescence staining and confocal microscopy will be an advantage. The post is full-time for 18 months initially with the possibility for prolongation.
