　　Job Description

　　The Institute for Tuberculosis Research, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy invites applications for multiple Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in the area of natural products research. These positions will focus on isolating and elucidating the structures of anti-infective compounds derived from bacteria and fungi.

　　Key Responsibilities: Cultivation of avirulent bacteria and fungi, solvent extraction, fractionation using liquid chromatography including high speed countercurrent, centrifugal partition and prep HPLC. Analysis of samples using analytical HPLC and LC-MS. Structure elucidation and purity assessment using spectroscopic techniques including NMR and LC-MS-MS. Responsible for preparing reports on the results of research conducted.

　　Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry. Documented experience in chromatographic separations of compounds from extracts, structure elucidation using NMR and mass spectrometry, and publication of outcomes.
