  Job Description

  The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Scholar. This position will work in Dr. Feng-Chun Yang's laboratory. We are searching for two highly-motivated Postdoctoral Scholars with strong interest in scientific environments with multidisciplinary expertise encompassing epigenetics and cancer.These positions are part of a new NIH-T32 funded project. The proposed program will provide trainees with the ideal platform for successful careers as scientists, physicians, scientific administrators, and entrepreneurs that will identify novel agents and devices to treat cancer. The University of Miami T32 Program is a two-year full time program with the goal to expose trainees to state-of-the-art resources and technology in cancer epigenetics research, such as specialized animal models, therapeutic targeting, and personalized epigenetic therapies, and complex genomics and bioinformatics in order to help train the future leaders of the field. The program will continue to contribute throughout the trainees' independent careers to the improved understanding of mechanisms underlying genome-wide epigenetic regulation of chromatin dynamics, ultimately resulting in the development of novel therapeutics in cancer that can be applied in a context of personalized medicine.Please note that this position is eligible to receive limited benefits through the University of Miami.

  Minimum Qualifications

  Ph.D, M.D., or other doctoral-level degree. Per this research grant, must be a United States citizen, permanent resident of the United States, a non-citizen national, or must have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence and possess an Alien Registration Receipt Card (I-151 or I-551) or some other verification of legal admission as a permanent resident. Must be available for a full-time, twelve month appointment and agree to undertake a minimum of two years of research, research training, or comparable experiences from the time of appointment. Please note that the University of Miami is an at-will employer and cannot guarantee continued employment for the time period stated. Continued employment is contingent upon continued funding and satisfactory work performance.

  Patient safety is a top priority.
