  Job Description

  Description: Exciting NIH-funded postdoctoral research opportunities are available in the Kielian laboratory at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. Our lab uses enveloped alphaviruses and flaviviruses as highly developed and medically important systems to study virus entry and virus biogenesis at the molecular level. We are looking for motivated and creative postdoctoral candidates who are interested in working on projects relating to virus assembly, trafficking, budding, and cell-to-cell transmission.

  Our research uses multidisciplinary approaches and takes advantage of the interactive and collaborative atmosphere of our lab. Postdocs in the lab are provided individualized mentoring in all aspects of career development. Further information and links to publications are on the lab and faculty websites:

  Qualifications:

  • PhD, MD, or MD/PhD

  • Strong background in cell biology, virology, biochemistry and/or molecular biology

  • Productive publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals

  • Strong research, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
