　　Postdoctoral Scholar - Cancer genetics and molecular biology

　　Dr. Delaney, PhD, has an opening in his laboratory for a self-motivated and independent Postdoctoral Scholar.

　　Delaney Lab projects are centered on investigating how chromosomal copy number changes alter cell biology, particularly in the context of cancer using mouse and ovarian cancer cell lines as model systems. We have developed bioinformatic algorithms to evaluate copy number alterations at an integrative and systems level, and use the informatics to prioritize which genes to study in a biological context. Our strongest success in ovarian cancer has been in evaluating the suppression of autophagy. We explore the interactions of autophagy and genomic instability, as well as how to therapeutically take advantage of altered autophagy.

　　The ideal candidate has previously used CRISPR-Cas9 to introduce sequence alterations by homologous recombination or other mechanisms (more than simple indel deletion), however this is not required if the candidate has demonstrated productivity as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.

　　The ideal candidate is very well organized and able to create documentation in Word, Excel, and Google Docs.  The Postdoctoral Scholar must be able to work well in a team setting, including the mentoring of undergraduates and colleagues.  Previous experience with autophagy and/or metabolic assays, cell culture, and bacterial plasmid preps is desired but not required.

　　The candidate must be willing to work with mice and lentivirus in an oncology context.

　　The candidate is expected to work hard while in the laboratory, however Dr. Delaney’s lab culture fosters work-life balance.
