　　Postdoctoral Scholar, Neuroscience: Hersey, PA, United States

　　The Neural & Behavioral Sciences Department at Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA., is looking for a postdoc candidate with an open mind who is willing to embrace new approaches for important questions in neuroscience. She/he is expected to work on a NIH funded project that will examine highly detailed 3D organization of neurovasculature in the mouse brain. We are looking for someone who has extensive research experience in mathematical and computational analysis of brain imaging dataset as well as small animal surgery. Extensive computer skills including matlab and python coding are required as well as strong writing skill. Candidates with physics or related background are particularly welcome to apply for the position. Expertise on computational modeling and fluid dynamics is not required but recommended. This lab utilizes interdisciplinary approaches to understand structural and functional organization of the mammalian brain using mice as an animal model. Unique strengths of our approach include whole mouse brain activity and anatomical mapping at cellular resolution using serial two-photon tomography (Kim et al., 2017, Cell). Furthermore, we have several on-going collaborations with labs across the world that bring different expertise, which provide ample opportunities to work with leading experts in different field of neuroscience. Penn State College of Medicine Campus is located in Hershey, PA that is a relatively small town with affordable living expense with easy access to neighboring major cities (e.g., Philadelphia). Eligible candidates should attached a CV including publications and the names of 3 professional references, and a brief statement of research with career plan to this job posting. Preferred qualifications: PhD or equivalent degree in neuroscience or related discipline. Funding for this position is available for at least one year with a good possibility of re-funding.
