摘要:

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW in Neuro-Immunology : Austin, TX, United States

One Postdoc position available to study sex differences in Neuro-Immunological disorders at the Dell Medical School at UT Austin.

Our lab is focused on understanding sex differences and disease mechanisms underlying NeuroImmunological disorders. We integrate large-scale data from genomics, proteomics, RNA-seq and antibody repertoirs with in-vitro and in-vivo molecular studies to identify key disease players. Using these technologies, our goal is to build comprehensive models of biomarker discovery, predictive NeuroImmunological disease state models, and specific patient targeted treatments.

The research will be conducted in a state-of-the-art newly built research facility in the Neurology Department at the Dell Medical School of UT Austin with access to cutting-edge molecular cores. The candidate postdoctoral fellow will have unique opportunities to interface with patients, clinicians and basic research scientists to allow for fruitful clinical and research collaborations and unique opportunities for attending campus and hospital based research and clinical seminars. This position will provide a multidisciplinary exposure to NeuroImmunological disorders from the bench to the bedside and will help jumpstart a postdoc’s career at the interface of basic research and patient care.

Candidate should hold a doctoral degree (MD, MD PhD or PhD) at the time of application and should reside in the United States. Excellent knowledge and skills in the following areas are required: immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry (eg ELISA, cell culture, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA/protein isolation, PCRQPCR, cloning, Western blotting, Immunohistochemistry, etc) Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working in mouse models of Multiple Sclerosis. Proficiency in confocal microscopy and bioinformatics analysis is a strong plus. Candidate must be proficient in verbal and written English, be highly motivated and a team player, be able to work independently and think critically, and should have a comprehensive publication record.
