We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated and talented post-doctoral wheat geneticist for a BBSRC-funded project based at NIAB, Cambridge, UK. This 3-year, fixed-term position and is part of a collaborative project with Embrapa (www.embrapa.br/en/international) in Brazil. You will undertake in situ and in vivo genetic mapping, QTL analyses and develop markers for SNPs within a large wheat population. You will undertake these genetic and bioinformatic analyses for leaf rust resistance in the Brazilian wheat variety Toropi. Working with collaborators in Brazil, you will also undertake functional analyses of the leaf rust resistance in Toropi. The applicant will be required to travel and work for short periods in Brazil, and supervise students and visitors. A PhD in a relevant genetic discipline and good statistical skills, would also be advantageous.

The starting salary is in the range of £30,353 to £33,726, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
