POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill multiple post-doctoral positions in theoretical high energy physics, to start between July 2026 and October 2026. These positions are primarily for work on scattering amplitudes in gauge and gravity theories-understanding their mathematical form, developing tools for their computation and representation, and applying new results to particle physics, gravitational wave physics, gauge/string duality, integrability or various related topics.
The elementary-particle theory faculty at Penn State consists of Carlos Blanco, Jacob Bourjaily, John Collins (emeritus), Murat Gunaydin (emeritus), Irina Mocioiu, Kohta Murase, Radu Roiban, Sarah Shandera, Anna Stasto and Mark Strikman. There are experimental groups active in astroparticle physics, dark matter and neutrino mass measurement. There are also active programs in theoretical gravitational physics, gravitational wave physics and cosmology. Postdoctoral scholars will be members of the Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos at Penn State.
Requirements include a Ph.D. in Physics. Applications must be submitted electronically and include a cover letter, CV and statement of research interests. Applicants should arrange for three reference letters to be submitted to physicsapply@psu.edu indicating the appropriate job number in the subject line (REQ_0000072840).
Applicants' questions may be sent to: Prof. Jacob Bourjaily or Prof. Radu Roiban, Physics Department, The Pennsylvania State University, 104 Davey Laboratory, University Park, PA 16802, U.S.A.
