Cluster of Excellence "CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter"

The Cluster of Excellence "CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter", funded by the German Federal and State Governments, combines projects in physics, chemistry, and molecular biology at the forefront of international research. With interdisciplinary teams from the University of Hamburg, the Helmholtz Center DESY, the Max Planck Society and European XFEL, the Cluster aims at imaging and understanding how collective behavior and functionality emerge microscopically and how one can dynamically create new functionalities.

We invite applications for

PhD and Postdoc positions  

on our research topics Quantum physics & technologies – Condensed matter physics – Ultrafast science & imaging – X-ray science – Nanoscience – X‑ray imaging in biophysics.

We are looking for highly qualified and motivated national and international students and scientists.

All our scientists are part of a unique interdisciplinary and international research environment with excellent opportunities for career development and high‑quality research. All PhD students will be part of our graduate school with a rich and comprehensive course program.
