The Chair of Theoretical Chemistry at TU Dresden lead by Prof. Thomas Heine is looking for a Postdoc starting asap. The position is limited to 2 years. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification. Balancing family and career is an important issue. The position is generally suitable for candidates seeking part-time employment. Please indicate the request in your application.

The work is part of the ongoing the ERC Synergy grant 2DPolyMembrane and will investigate quantum simulations of proton diffusion through precision pores in a close collaboration with the experimental partners groups in MPI Halle/DE and Leiden University/NL. The successful candidate commit to actively participate in networking including regular research visits to the partner laboratories.

Formal requirements are a university and PhD degree in chemistry or physics or related fields, completed before the enrolment start and profound knowledge in computational and theoretical physics/chemistry.
