Postdoctoral Fellow - Kathryn Martinez & Michael Rothberg Lab

Cleveland Clinic

Location: Cleveland, OH

Job Number: 7307883 (Ref #: ccf21935476)

Posting Date: Newly posted

Job Description

Highly motivated individuals with a PhD or MD/PhD in relevant area are encouraged to apply. This training position, under the direct supervision of a Cleveland Clinic Principal Investigator will provide practical training and experience in a research setting. This position is appointed through the Lerner Research Institute. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a commitment to research, a collaborative work ethic and strong communication skills, both written and verbal. This program is expected to be completed within 5 years.

The Center for Value-based Care Research (CVCR) at Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on two federally funded grants, one on reducing extended spectrum antibiotics for community-acquired pneumonia (R01HS028633) and the other on effective screening for colorectal cancer in older patients (R01 AG086247). Our team, consisting of eight full-time investigators (MDs and PhDs), is dedicated to enhancing population health through evidence-based, patient-centered care, aiming to deliver the right care at the right time to the right patients, at a lower cost.

The fellow will support clinical research studies focusing on the epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of community-acquired pneumonia and risk modeling in colorectal cancer. This will involve providing advanced study design and epidemiological guidance and performing advanced statistical analysis. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training and gain unique research experience in risk prediction, observational data analyses, and randomized controlled trials (RCTs) under the mentorship of our multidisciplinary faculty. Fellows are encouraged to develop their own research ideas and career development grant applications (K awards) during the fellowship, with full support from the Cleveland Clinic and CVCR faculty.
