Post doc Researcher in Deaf Education

The Opportunity:

Would you like to join an exciting project at the University of Edinburgh during 2024 which could make a real difference to the educational experiences of deaf young people in the UK? We are looking for a post-doc researcher who can manage complexity, keep a close eye on detail and collaborate with a wide range of partners. We aim to create a product which can create subtitles in the class and automatically summarize lesson content for deaf pupils and their specialist teachers.

This post is 0.8 (28 hours per week) for 9 months. We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

Your skills and attributes for success:

You will hold a PhD in the deaf education field

You will have experience in social science research

You will have worked in the deaf education field in the UK as a practitioner or researcher

Your communication skills will be outstanding in working with multiple partners

Ability to use British Sign Language fluently is an advantage
