Research Fellow in Coral Reef Adaptation

Job Description

We are running a new project that aims to identify adaptive reefs from space and to reduce climate vulnerability of people relying on those reefs. We are recruiting a person with expertise and interest in both quantative coral reef ecology and project management. They will be employed under a collaborative project linking institutions from Indonesia, the Philippines, UK, and USA. The project management aspect of the role involves coordinating consortium activities of the partners. The research will quantify how reef geomorphology and thermal regime predict biodiversity and its adaptive capacity and develop gender and socially inclusive adaptation pathways for reef users. We will combine research approaches ranging from genomics, eDNA, visual census to socio-economic and gender/ social inclusion relevant questionaires.

We are looking for applicants with a relevant PhD, expertise in ecological modelling of big data with frequentist and bayesian approaches, strong field (SCUBA diving) expertise and experience or interest in project management.
