Title Postdoctoral Position in Experimental/Theoretical Quantum Liquids at Indiana University

The Physics Department at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow to support experimental and theoretical studies of quantum liquids confined to one-dimension. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to the planning, execution and analysis of neutron scattering studies of confined helium as well as to theoretical simulations of the system.

It is envisioned that the candidate will be based at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where they will have the opportunity to collaborate with the group of Adrian Del Maestro and the Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Lab. The appointment could begin as early as September 1, 2023. The initial appointment will be for 1 year, with the expectation of renewal for an additional two years.

Basic Qualifications

A Ph.D. in experimental or theoretical condensed matter physics is required by time of appointment. Experience with neutron scattering and/or numerical simulations is an advantage but not a necessity.
