Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Old Road Campus Research Building, Roosevelt Drive, Oxford, OX3 7DQ

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research.

You will be part of Professor Shi's research group at Ludwig Cancer Research, University of Oxford, is focusing on understanding the role of chromatin in human cancer. You will be responsible for testing hypotheses and analysing scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate. Independently design and synthesize small molecules using structure activity relationships and protein-ligand co-crystal structures.

It is essential that you hold a PhD (or close to completion) in organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry, and have demonstrable experience in small molecule synthesis and characterization. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and to collaborate with colleagues on a range of diverse projects. A good publication record in chemistry, including experience independently writing scientific reports and manuscripts.
