德国癌症研究中心博士后职位---质谱蛋白质组学

Postdoc / Scientist in Mass Spectrometry-based Proteomics

Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum

The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.

We are looking for an enthusiastic postdoc to join the Division of Proteomics of Stem Cell and Cancer (https: // www. dkfz.de/en/proteomik-stammzellen- krebs/index.php) headed by Prof. Jeroen Krijgsveld. Research in our lab leverages state-of-the-art mass spectrometric technologies to investigate processes that are fundamental to cancer biology. To this end, we combine methodologies in biochemistry, chemical biology, mass spectrometry with computational tools to investigate proteome composition and dynamics. In our research we are interested to understand the role of oncogenic drivers in shaping the cancer proteome, of secreted proteins in cellular communication, of RNA-binding proteins in mediating translational control, and of chromatin- binding proteins in cell fate decision. In addition, we exploit lab automation and sensitivity of modern mass spectrometers for clinical and low-input applications, including single-cells.

To strengthen our activities, we are looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to join our international team. Candidates should have a solid background in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, with an interest to apply their skills in cell signaling and regulation in cancer. Scientists with a profile in computational proteomics are also encouraged to apply.

Job description:

  Establish and actively contribute to projects in the area of cancer signaling and cell regulation

  Employ and drive technology development for the analysis of (sub-)proteomes with increased specificity, sensitivity and throughput

  Perform sample preparation procedures, MS measurements and data analysis in an independent manner

  Pro-active role in planning and monitoring of projects, and in liaising with collaborators

  Active involvement in reporting and dissemination of results at conferences and in publications

Requirements:

  MSc degree in (analytical) chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent

  PhD in one of the life sciences with a focus on proteomics

  Excellent track-record in the field of proteomics

  Ample experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, including sample preparation, and hands-on use of modern mass spectrometers and Nano/UHPLC systems

  Experience with state-of-the-art proteomic workflows, including MS acquisition (e.g. DDA, DIA, PRM) and data analysis with various software tools

  Analytical mindset, with a keen interest in advancing proteomic methodologies

  Knowledge of cancer biology

  Open-minded and enthusiastic team player, with strong communication skills to efficiently interact with internal and external collaborators across disciplines

  Proper command of English

  Computer literacy and programming skills are a plus

We offer:

  Interesting, versatile workplace

  International, attractive working environment

  Campus with modern state-of-the-art infrastructure

  Salary according to TV-L including social benefits

  Possibility to work part-time

  Flexible working hours

  Comprehensive further training program

  Access to the DKFZ International Postdoc Program
