英国利兹大学博士后职位---KSHV-宿主细胞相互作用

Research Fellow in KSHV-Host Cell Interactions

University Of Leeds

Description

The Whitehouse research group is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to investigate how the human tumour virus, Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), manipulates ribosome biogenesis pathways and nuclear condensates to enhance its own replication. The project will use a range of molecular and cell biology approaches to highlight a novel KSHV-mediated mechanism to regulate viral gene expression. Moreover, this project aims to identify a novel targets for antiviral intervention for this important human tumour virus.

The successful candidate will become part of a multi-member laboratory team investigating the molecular mechanisms of viral infection and the essential role of virus-host cell events. These are fundamentally important to ultimately develop new effective antiviral agents that target viral proteins or host factors.

For this role, you should have a PhD (or close to completion) in molecular  virology or a closely allied discipline. You should also have experience in growth, analysis and manipulation of Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus, as well as in virus-mediated manipulation of ribosome biogenesis pathways and nuclear condensates.

Experience in a wide range of RNA-based techniques, qRT-PCR, protein production, mammalian cell culture, immunoblotting, and lentivirus-shRNA depletion approaches in B cells is also essential.
