Post-Doc Offer : Neutrophils In The Onset And Propagation Of Antibody-Driven Autoimmunity

Institut Pasteur

In the frame of an FRM-funded project, a postdoctoral position is available in the “Allergy and Autoimmunity group” at the Institut Pasteur for studies in neutrophil biology/autoimmunity. The work will aim to dissect the role of neutrophils in the onset and propagation of antibody-driven autoimmunity, with a focus on immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). The successful candidate will develop to this aim a new mouse model of ITP for the in-depth characterization of neutrophil involvement in the disease and their interactions with autoantibody-producing B cells. Phenotypical and functional analysis of human neutrophils from ITP patients will complement the work.

Requirements:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, independent, and innovative candidate who works well in a team and is eager to drive this translational project forward. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or MD) in immunology or related fields. Highly motivated candidates with a strong background in immunology, molecular biology, and/or genetics and substantial experience with flow cytometry and in vivo mouse models are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in conducting and analyzing neutrophil or platelet functions or scRNA-seq experiments is an asset. Good communication skills and fluency in English are essential.

Successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary and collaborative team with long-standing expertise in antibody-driven afflictions and the analysis of mouse models of human diseases.

The position is available starting from December 2022 for an initial period of 12 months with secured funding for up to 24 months.

Interested candidates should send before September 20th a cover letter with a brief description of research experience, interests, and accomplishments, their CV, and letters of support or the names and contact information for two references as a single PDF file to
