Computational Genomics postdoctoral researcher position in Division of Biostatistics and Cancer Center
Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral researcher position in computational genomics in the laboratory of Dr. Victor Jin, Professor of Biostatistics and Genomic Medicine at MCW (as of July 1st, 2022). Dr. Jin currently runs a multi-disciplinary systems biology lab with both computational and experimental components. The research in his lab is focused on the interface between transcriptional/chromatin regulation, cancer progression and drug resistance. The successful candidate will be expected to develop new algorithms and software tools for the identification of 3D chromatin regulatory networks and epigenetic-regulated splicing variants from next generation sequencing (NGS), such as bulk/single-cell Hi-C, bulk/single-cell ATAC-seq, bulk/single-cell RNA-seq. The position actively involves in working cooperatively with other lab members and outside collaborators. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly motivated, and independent with good skills in mathematics and computer science, and a strong record of accomplishment in research.
Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, molecular biology, applied mathematics, or a related field.
- Research experience (with first-author publications) in computational genomics
- Proficiency in programming, ideally in C/C++ as well as in scripting languages such as perl/python, or R. Should be comfortable in a linux environment, with large data sets, computer clusters, and database software.
