Research Associate - protein crystallography (Fixed Term)
University of Cambridge
Description
The structural biology lab of Prof. Marko Hyvonen is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to drive an industrial collaboration, with Bicycle Therapeutics, towards a molecular understanding of how bicyclic peptides can engage target proteins via different binding mechanisms. The post-holder will generate biophysical and structural data for multiple peptide-bound protein targets using x-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, surface plasmon resonance and ITC, and work closely with industry scientists to drive iterative cycles of peptide design.
You will be responsible for driving this academic-industrial collaboration on the structural and biophysical characterisation of bicyclic peptides in complex with therapeutic protein targets in immune-oncology and other debilitating diseases. You will be in charge of the complete gene-to-structure pipeline. You will be in charge of design and generation of expression constructs of target proteins through protein production in bacterial, insect or mammalian cells.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.
