COMPETITION OPENING DATE: April 13th, 2022

Post-doc position will be devoted to the study of fundamental bounds and optimal protocols in quantum metrology in presence of correlated noise models in optical and atomic systems both in single and multiparamter problems.

Post-doc position will be financed under the project “Correlated Noise Effects in Quantum Metrology” financed by the Polish National Science Center under OPUS programme.

According to the NCN rules, a post-doc may receive remuneration under a full- time employment contract, provided that cumulatively the following conditions are fulfilled:

- during the period of receiving this remuneration, he / she does not receive any other remuneration from the NCN funds in any form;

- during the period of receiving this remuneration, he / she does not receive any other remuneration under an employment contract with any employer (also applies to an employer with a seat outside the territory of the Republic of Poland);

Work will be performed at the Institue of Theoretical Physics, Faculty of Physics University of Warsaw, under the supervision of dr. hab. RafałDemkowicz-Dobrzański (the PI of the project)

The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018 (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2022, item 574).

Eligibility criteria

The candidate should:

hold a PhD degree in the field of physics obtained no earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project

have research experience in theoretical quantum information and quantum metrology

have significant scientific publication record

speak very good English

experience in supervising research of younger colleagues/students is welcomed

The entire procedure will be concluded before June 15th 2022 The candidate might be asked for an interview with the commission appointed by the Dean of the Faculty. All applicants will be informed individually on the decision and the date of a potential qualification interview via email.

The starting date for the position will be agreed with the candidate, preferably in the first half of 2022. Before being employed candidates should deliver the originals of all the submitted documents. Employment will only be possible after presenting by the candidate an official document certifying his/her obtaining of the PhD diploma.

Work will be performed at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Faculty of Physics University of Warsaw, under the supervision of dr. hab. RafałDemkowicz-Dobrzański (the PI of the project).
