Role Description
About the Role
You will work as part of the ‘Constructing a Digital Environment' programme run from Cranfield University on behalf of the Natural Environment Research Council. The role entails collaborating with our team to plan and deliver activities to advance and embed emergent environmental data science approaches within the UK environmental science community and for related environmental policy stakeholders. The role will involve interacting with our funded consortia teams from two waves of feasibility projects and a subsequent round of demonstrator projects, and engagement with our ‘Expert Network' of leading academics and practitioners in this area (comprising early career experts, senior experts, and international experts).
About You
You will be educated to, or close to completion, doctoral level in a Science or Engineering discipline and have experience of environmental data science, particularly emergent technical and statistical developments in AI and machine learning as they apply to environmental applications. You will be an initiative-taking individual with an ability to work and engage with multidisciplinary teams and to work independently to convey and communicate the development of approaches generating novel insights advancing scientific understanding and policy development.
