德国达姆施塔特工业大学土木工程系博士后职位

Wiss. Mitarbeiter_in - PostDoc (W/M/D)

Darmstadt University Of Technology

Description

At the Institute for Solid Construction , in the Department of Civil Engineering of TechnischeUniversität Darmstadt, Germany, the following position is available:

Research Associate/Postdoctoral Researcher (all genders)

The position is initially limited to 3 years, further prolongation is generally possible. Starting date is 1rst of Mai 2022.

The special research focus lies on computational modelling and experimental techniques of fracture mechanics in concrete.

Your field of research:

The computational modelling of concrete structures from nanoscopic scale to macroscopic scale by considering the complex material properties of concrete constitutes is still a challenging task. The proposed position will concentrate on the formulation of numerical models based on Phase-Field Simulation for the calculation of crack propagation in real structures coupling multi-physics processes such as:

Chemo-thermo-mechanical problems

Heat of hydration and thermal expansion

Material strength development

Autogenous shrinkage, drying shrinkage

Basic creeping, Drying creep, thermal transient creep

Furthermore, the calculation of the mechanical response of interfacial cracking in heterogeneous materials with complex microstructures and hardening retracing the crack initiation, propagation and coalescence will also be studied. Then, non-linear finite element calculations using Abaqus will also be performed to simulate the load bearing behavior of reinforced or prestressed concrete structural elements. These calculations will aim to perform parametrical studies based on a model validated on experimental tests.

Your Mission:

Research on Phase-Field Modelling, preparation of project applications

Design, plan and lead laboratory testing

Disseminate results through scientific publications and talks at conferences

Supervision and co-ordination of doctoral students

Contribute to scientific literature as well as research proposals and grant applications in collaboration with university staff

Assist in the strategic organization of research activities

Teaching activity

Your Profile:

Excellent PhD in the field of Computational Engineering

Independence in research

Willingness to integrate into the existing team

Have taste for model development and implementation

Experience in global/local sensitivity and parametric study

Very good programming skills in Python and/or Matlab

Experience with homogenization techniques: asymptotic homogenization, FE homogenization

Be familiar with two or more of these tools: Abaqus, Ansys, Code Aster, Matlab, Python, Mfront, Fenics

Languages: Very good written and oral skills in English

Mastering the German will be considered as advantage
