Postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Shyam Krishnakumar in the Department of Neurology/Yale Nanobiology Institute, Yale University School of Medicine.
The successful candidate will apply biochemical, biophysical, and optical methods, with a specific focus on systematic biochemical reconstitution to study the molecular mechanisms of synchronicity and use-dependent plasticity of neurotransmitter release.
They will be an integral part of a collaborative research program with Prof. Kirill Volynski group in the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology/Yale University.
The applicant should possess (or soon hope to hold) Ph.D. in a relevant discipline within biochemistry, cell biology, or neuroscience and a track record of experimental laboratory research, with a strong publication record.
•Experience in protein biochemistry is essential and fluorescence microscopy (confocal/TIRF imaging) is highly desirable.
•Understanding of membrane biology, molecular biology, and biophysical principles, are desirable as is knowledge of scientific computer programming.
•The applicant must be capable of working independently and also, as part of a collaborative team.
