英国考文垂大学博士后职位---机器学习/人工智能/数据科学等

Research Fellow

Conventry University

Description

Coventry University is looking for a talented Research Fellow to join us and deliver, publish and communicate high-impact research work within an UKRI- funded Energy Revolution Research Consortium (EnergyRev).

EnergyRev aims to coordinate and integrate existing UK world-class knowledge, research teams and facilities to provide advice, research and innovation support to help ensure the success of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) Prospering from the Energy Revolution (PFER) programme. It is an interdisciplinary consortium comprising >20 universities, led by Professor Stephen McArthur at the University of Strathclyde.

Given the high momentum, creative capacity and high-profile of this research consortium, this is an exciting opportunity to work with world-class researchers and deliver important, meaningful and impactful research. This role sits within the EnergyRev work package on Cyber Physical Infrastructure, led by Prof. Elena Gaura (https: // pureportal.coventry.ac.uk/en/persons/elena- gaura) and Prof. James Brusey (https: // pureportal.coventry.ac.uk/en/persons/james-brusey) ,at Coventry University, in collaboration with the universities of Strathclyde, Keele, Sheffield and Cardiff.

The post holder will research to understand and evidence the academic and industrial cyber physical challenges in designing and developing local, investable, consumer-centred energy approaches. You will document the gaps and barriers to adoption of artificial intelligence, distributed control and sophisticated sensing and modelling into the energy systems design practice and develop/prototype solutions to some of the challenges. Working with the wider team, you will develop novel “data to knowledge” processing chains and evaluate their benefits, added value and utility in the context of real-life local energy systems.

You will undertake both lab-based research and field research in the UK, where local energy system demonstrators of interest reside. This is a computer science role with interdisciplinary aspects, entailing collaborative working with other researchers in the EnergyRev consortium, including distributed control, measurement, and intelligent agent researchers.

You will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualification in Computer Science or related disciplines. You will have programming experience in at least one common language and demonstrated ability to work within teams of programmers. In addition, you will have knowledge of one or more of: machine learning, artificial intelligence (and associated tools), data science, sensors, embedded systems, intelligent control.

For informal enquiries about this post please contact Professor James Brusey at j.brusey@coventry.ac.uk.
