Postdoctoral Research Associate in Organic Chemistry

Department of Chemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford Grade 7: £33,309 - £37,467 per annum

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Organic chemistry, to work under the supervision of Professor Ed Anderson for up to 18 months. This project, funded by the EPSRC, involves the development of new methods for the synthesis and transformations of bicyclo1.1.1pentanes (BCPs), and related bioisosteres of interest to the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. You should have a PhD in Chemistry, or have submitted your thesis prior to taking up the appointment. The project requires experience in developing synthetic methodology, in particular in the field of transition metal catalysis, including photoredox catalysis. You will be expected to manage your academic research and administrative activities, co-ordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines, interacting with collaborators, and supervising other students in the group.

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA, and is available from 15th January 2022.
