The Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate with a preference for those with experience in vaccines (including COVID-19) general medicine (arthritis, diabetes, etc), specialty care (rare disease, oncology, etc), and interactions (drug-drug and drug-disease).

This Postdoctoral Research Associate will have the opportunity to work with many researchers at Rutgers University Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science (PETS) as well as Sanofi. The position focuses on pharmacoepidemiology, specifically the application of methodologies and study designs suitable for assessing the utilization, safety, and effectiveness of medications within the Sanofi portfolio. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will have the opportunity not only to pharmacoepidemiology in the biopharmaceutical setting, but also to learn new quantitative methods such as signal detection, risk management, and structured benefit-risk evaluation. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct mentored research for practical application of novel methodologies and will be expected to work within a team environment to conduct studies, publish, present findings to a wide variety of stakeholders (including non-scientists and other pharmacoepidemiologists). Opportunities will also be available for writing research proposals and teaching experiences.

The individual will conduct research studies (i.e., synopsis/proposal, design, analysis, and interpretation) not limited to the areas noted above, prepare study concept and full protocols/SAPs, present research and publish in a timely manner, conduct targeted literature reviews, participate in research meetings at Rutgers, interact with Rutgers faculty, and receive mentorship by Rutgers faculty member (with overlapping interest) and Sanofi epidemiologist.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate position is for 1 year with possible renewal for an additional year (2-year program).

Minimum Education and Experience

· Doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Pharmaceutical Outcomes, Biostatistics, or similar field OR professional medical doctoral degree (MD, PharmD, DNP, DO, etc) with graduate training in epidemiology (e.g., MS)

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Excellent communication, organizational, inter-personal, and time-management skills

· Previous pharmacoepidemiology research experience preferred

· Experience analyzing large administrative database analysis preferred

· Knowledge of SAS or R preferred

· Able to work legally in the United States
