Postdoc "RESTORE Project: Biodiversity And Ecological Efficiency Of Restored Oyster Reefs" (M/F/D)

Alfred Wegener Institute

The research group Ecological Restoration at AWI Bremerhaven invites applications for a Postdoc (m/f/d) for the RESTORE project: Biodiversity and ecological efficiency of restored oyster reefs. Due to their ecological importance, native oyster reefs are in the focus of European nature conservation measures. As part of the RESTORE testing and development project funded by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN), methods and procedures for the sustainable restoration of the European oyster Ostrea edulis in the German North Sea are being developed and put into practice for the first time. In 2020, a pilot oyster reef was established in the nature reserve BorkumReefground, which will be continuously expanded and scientifically investigated in the coming years.

You will be involved in the concept ualisation and implementation of field experiments and assessments, as well as in the processing, evaluation, publication, and presentation of the collected data from the oyster reef habitat.
