Description

Work duties Responsible for research tasks in a project dealing with the development of biobased monomers, isocyanate-free polyurethanes and BPA-free polycarbonates. Synthesis and characterization of chemicals, monomers and polymers by different methods, analyzing their recyclability and biocompatibility Take an active role in collaboration with other parties in the project Write scientific articles and reports

Qualification requirements Applicants must have:

  Doctoral degree in the subjects of organic chemistry, polymer science, or a related discipline.

  Very good oral and written proficiency in English.

  Knowledge and background in organic synthesis, functionalization of chemicals and monomers, polymerization, and / or spectroscopic and physico-chemical characterization, shown in scientific publications.

  Highly motivated and strong ability to conduct research independently but also as part of a research group.

Assessment criteria and other qualifications

  Education in organic chemistry or polymer chemistry.

  Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of chemical and polymer synthesis and characterization.

  Product analysis with chromatography and spectroscopy.

  Knowledge of bio-based chemicals, monomers and polymers.

  Good skills in planning, design and organization.

  Experience of working with industry or working in a company

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, team work drive and independence, and how the applicant's experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment Temporary employment, 100 %, 2021-08-01 – 2021-12-31
