A new postdoctoral fellowship position is available at Joslin Diabetes Center, Boston MA to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying paternal intergenerational transmission of obesity and diabetes risk in the Patti Lab.
A successful candidate will have recently completed a PhD, be an enthusiastic scientist (J), and have good command of English and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In addition to standard molecular laboratory techniques, applicant must have proven skills in molecular and epigenetic techniques, including RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, chromatin analysis, and integrative analysis of large “omics” data sets. Experience in developmental biology would be desirable. Must be US citizen or eligible for J1 visa.
The Joslin Research Division (https://www.joslin.org/research) is a dynamic setting in which to learn, guided by world-class investigators within the broader environment of the Harvard Longwood area and supported by the infrastructure and scientific activities of the NIH funded Diabetes Research Center. In addition to project-specific training and lab meetings, postdocs learn from weekly seminars by internal and external scientists, joint data club lab meetings, and scientists staffing core facilities (e.g. Bioinformatics, Molecular Phenotyping Core with 10x, Flow Cytometry, Animal Facility, and others). Opportunities for teaching visiting students are available. Fellows are encouraged to participate in the Joslin Fellows Council, a group providing activities for both professional growth and fun!
