In the research group ‘Security in Information Technology' (Prof. Dr. Waidner) at the Department of Computer Science of Technische Universität DarmstadtResearch Position (Post-Doc) in Cybersecurity and Privacy
is available, starting September 1st, 2021, and with a fixed-term employment contract initially limited to 2 years.
The Technische Universität Darmstadt is at the forefront of research in cybersecurity and privacy. Our group focuses on all the aspects of systems and networks security. We focus on the Internet, critical infrastructures, business software and industrial control systems. We develop innovative cybersecurity and privacy solutions and work with partners from industry and government agencies. We are involved in international standardization (e.g., IETF). Much of our research is done in collaboration with leading academic and industrial cybersecurity institutions from around the world.
We are looking for highly motivated and qualified candidates to strengthen our team and our research activities.
Your profile:
A very good PhD in computer science or a related field
Practical experience and solid knowledge in cybersecurity, especially in the area of security of internet protocols (such as routing, naming, network time protocol, tunneling protocols), web security (including client and server side and secure channel protocols, SSL/TLS), privacy preserving mechanisms (such as TOR), malware detection, security of emerging and future technologies (incl. IoT), critical infrastructure, and defences against denial of service attacks
High self-motivation, dedication and performance-oriented and independent work
Willingness to work in an international and excellence-oriented work environment
Fluent German (at least C1 level) and English skills since we cooperate with international teams in leading universities world-wide; if necessary applicants are expected to improve their language skills through intensive language classes

The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate. Opportunity for further qualification (habilitation) is given.
