Salary: £33,797 – £40,322 p.a. (Grade 7)
Applications are invited for one post-doctoral research officer position, in the areas of Virtual and Mixed Reality (XR). The position will be part of a growing team in the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Centre and will involve the development of XR applications and services that use future network technologies.
The research officer will be collaborating with two research groups in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, Bangor University: a) the Visualisation, Data, Modelling and Graphics (VDMG) research group, and b) the Photonics and Communications research group (PCRG).
The scheme is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Welsh Government, EU Funds: Investing in Wales.
Candidates should hold PhD degrees (or near completion – or degree-equivalent) in a relevant area of engineering or science and have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
i. Virtual and/or Mixed/Augmented Reality
ii. Information Visualisation and especially Immersive Analytics
iii. Internet-of-things and Edge Computing
iv. Wearable computing
The successful candidates will be expected to commence as soon as possible and the posts are initially fixed term positions until 30/06/2023.
Duties will include undertaking theoretical and/or experimental research in one or more of the aforementioned projects by designing, implementing and evaluating advanced techniques and systems capable of satisfying specific technical objectives.
