Postdoc positions in cancer metabolism/metabolomics
Multiple postdoctoral opportunities are available in the laboratory of Dr. Gary Patti at Washington University in St. Louis. We seek scientists who are enthusiastic to work closely with a multidisciplinary team at the Siteman Cancer Center to understand the impact of tumorigenesis on metabolism and to explore therapeutic/dietary interventions. The research will involve: (i) working with zebrafish and/or mice; (ii) applying basic molecular biology techniques; (iii) performing mass spectrometry-based metabolomics and isotope-tracer analysis; and (iv) interpreting data in the context of metabolism and physiology. Expertise in all of these areas is not a pre-requisite of the position.
The Patti lab has 15 high-performance mass spectrometers for metabolomics, an animal facility for isotope tracing and therapeutic/dietary interventions, basic molecular biology tools, and access to biospecimens from a wide range of cancer patients.
