Position description

Position: Postdoctoral Fellow

Position is available at the University of California, Irvine, Department of Radiological Sciences for a one year appointment, non-senate, Postdoctoral Fellow.

The position involves assisting faculty with research investigation in the abdominal imaging. Areas of research include oncologic imaging, image processing and imaging technology; Incumbent is expected to make scientific and scholarly contributions to the research enterprise. Incumbent will assume responsibilities including: 1) data-mining to enable processing and curating complex data sets; (2) data analysis using traditional statistical and machine learning techniques; (3) design, coordination and execution of research experiments; (4) preparation and submission of manuscripts, grant proposals and research-related regulatory documentation. There is close collaboration with other departments.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicant would have PhD, MD or MD/PhD. Mastery of the English language is required. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential. Experience with medical research is a plus.
