Postdoctoral Associate Position in Chronic Disease Genomics

We are seeking a postdoctoral associate to join an NIH-funded project team studying gene by environment interactions in chronic disease. Human genome studies continue to identify novel insights into chronic disease, leading to opportunities for disease prevention and health promotion. The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree (PhD) in Human Genetics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics or related field or a MD, DDS, or DVM degree combined with training in human genetics or epidemiology at the PhD or Master’s levels (or equivalent) is/are required. Training in nutritional sciences is desirable. A curriculum vitae reflecting scientific productivity in epidemiology, human genetics, heart, lung, and/or blood phenotypes and/or biomedical sciences is required.

This position is ideal for a candidate who is committed to a research-focused career in the genetics of chronic disease in human populations. Research will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Patricia A. Cassano in the Division of Nutritional Sciences in collaboration with a mentoring team comprised of investigators at Cornell University and RTI International spanning expertise in nutrition, genetics, epidemiology, epigenetics and statistical genomics. The post-doctoral environment is designed to advance the training, career development, and professional growth of the post-doctoral associate. The post-doctoral associate will work with mentors and collaborators in the Cohorts for Heart and Aging Research in Genomic Epidemiology (CHARGE) consortium in authoring publications, making presentations at scientific and/or professional meetings, and developing grant support. This position is available immediately.
