美国弗吉尼亚联邦大学分子生物学、分子遗传学方向博士职位

Virginia Commonwealth University

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Zheng Fu in the Department of Human and Molecular Genetics and the Institute of Molecular Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), School of Medicine. The main research focus in Dr. Fu’s laboratory is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of cell cycle control and genomic stability maintenance. The ongoing studies in the laboratory also focus on defining molecular determinants of hormone-refractory prostate cancer. The aims are to understand how deregulation of these physiological processes contributes to carcinogenesis and tumor progression and to ultimately apply the findings to the development of novel, improved, and targeted cancer therapies (Cancer Research 81: 1293; Cell Reports 28:2147; Elife 5: e10734; Nat Cell Biol. 10:1076; J Clin Invest. 119:2714).

Dr. Fu’s laboratory is seeking highly qualified, dedicated individuals with a commitment to research excellence. The successful candidate should have a PhD or MD degree in molecular biology, cell biology, molecular genetics, and biochemistry, and experience in the areas of protein modification, transcriptional control, protein-protein interactions, and animal modeling. The candidates must also have strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills in English.

These positions will provide outstanding training opportunities and experiences to work in an exceptionally supportive and collaborative environment. VCU is a public research university founded in 1838 that combines a rich history with the innovation and resources of a major research institution. The VCU Medical Center and Health System make up one of the largest and most comprehensive medical centers on the East Coast. The Department currently has approximately 50 trainees at the graduate and postdoctoral levels. A competitive salary with an excellent compensation and benefits package will be provided. VCU is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.

Candidates interested in the position should send a cover letter with a brief summary of research experience and interests, an updated CV, and contact information for three references:
