Postdoctoral research fellow
Boston Children's Hospital (BCH)
A postdoctoral research fellowship is available in the Alejandro Gutierrez lab in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Our overarching interests are to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying resistance to cancer chemotherapy. Our approach combines unbiased genetic screens with functional genetics, biochemistry and experimental therapeutics in genetically engineered and patient-derived models of cancer. Our recently published studies describing the potent therapeutic interaction of Wnt signaling and asparaginase are emblematic of our approach (Cancer Cell, 2019;35:664 and Cancer Discovery, 2020;10:1690).
A doctoral degree (PhD and/or MD) is required, together with a strong track record of productivity, as evidenced by first-authored publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The ideal candidate will have a track record of applying innovative experimental strategies to tackle important biologic problems, together with the communication and interpersonal skills required to make a positive contribution to a thriving intellectual environment. Full-time position with competitive salary/benefits commensurate with experience.
To apply, please email your CV, a 1-page statement of research interests, and the contact information for 3 references to Dr. Alejandro Gutierrez, Division of Hematology/Oncology, Boston Children’s Hospital, alejandro.gutierrez@childrens.harvard.edu. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
