美国宾夕法尼亚大学干细胞生物学博士后职位

Postdoctoral Scholar in Stem Cell Biology

University of Pennsylvania

Job Description

A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, to study stem cells in skeletal development and diseases.

We take advantage of multi-disciplinary approaches including advanced single cell transcriptomics, sophisticated genetical mouse models and surgery-induced disease models, and cutting-edge three dimensional imaging, to identify mesenchymal subpopulations in bone and joint tissues and to understand their functions and regulatory mechanisms under physiological and pathological conditions. UPenn is a highly collaborative environment. We are currently collaborating with multiple other research laboratories specializing in nanomaterial, biomechanics, tissue engineering, adipose biology, and bioinformatics with a goal of translating our projects into future clinical applications. Several exciting projects are available for the candidate to choose from, covering the areas of bone remodeling, marrow adipocytes, joint biology, and tissue regeneration. Please refer to our recent publications (Single cell transcriptomics identifies a unique adipose lineage cell population that regulates bone marrow environment. Elife e54695; MALPs promote osteoclastogenesis in bone remodeling and pathologic bone loss. J Clin Invest. JCI e140214; Targeting cartilage EGFR pathway for osteoarthritis treatment. Sci Transl Med. eabb39461) and lab website (https://www.med.upenn.edu/orl/qinlab/) for more information.

The candidate must be self-motivated, have strong background in standard molecular and biological techniques, cell culture and/or animal model, and have genuine interests in developing computational skills for single cell data and imaging analyses. Previous experience in skeletal stem cell biology is preferred but not required. The position requires the ability to lead projects and work cooperatively with others, carry out and troubleshoot experiments, and assist in grant and manuscript writing. The salary and benefit will follow the NIH standard.

Please email a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and names of three references to: Ling Qin, Ph.D.
