美国华盛顿大学医学系心脏病学部博士后职位

Postdoctoral Fellow

University of Washington (UW)

Seattle, WA, United States

Expires on February 27, 2021

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington to study the role of fortilin in human diseases.

This is a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar position on an annual, 12-month appointment. Postdoctoral scholars are represented by UAW 4121 and are subject to the collective bargaining agreement, unless agreed exclusion criteria apply. For more information, please visit the University of Washington Labor Relations website.

The postdoctoral fellow will be engaging in exciting, collaborative projects at UW medicine South Lake Union. Our group is interested in the role of fortilin in atherosclerosis. Work will include performing significant and innovative scientific experiments pertaining to the characterization of fortilin with the highest-possible scientific rigor, which include and are not limited to (a) molecular biological and biochemical experiments, (b) immunofluorescent and immunohistochemical staining, © cell-based assays, and (d) whole animal experiments.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree relevant to biological science with less than 3 years of post-doctoral training. In addition, the candidate must have at least one first author paper published within the last 3 years.

Experience in the cardiovascular field is preferred, but not required. Experience in any one of the following areas is preferred, but again not required: hybridoma culture and monoclonal antibody purification, surface plasmon resonance (SPR), microscale thermophoresis (MST), mammalian cell protein production and column/batch purification, and multiplex immunofluorescence staining. Experience in animal procedures, such as TAC (transverse aortic constriction), the ligation of mouse left coronary artery, mouse echocardiography, en face atherosclerosis assay, nude mouse tumor expansion and metastasis assay, and liver resection procedure, is also preferred but not required.

The successful applicant will work closely with the PI and other members of the team, perform experiments, write manuscripts, and participate in Departmental and extramural scholarly activities.  The ideal candidate will have excellent technical and communication skills and willingness to work well with others. The laboratory is well supported by the NIH and the University of Washington.

Please submit a cover letter, CV, the reprint of a recent paper in which you are first author, and the names/emails for three references through Interfolio. With questions, you may directly contact the laboratory at thefujiselab@uw.edu.
