Postdoc In Single Cell Proteomics Technology And Chromatin Biology
University Of Southern Denmark
The research project aims to elucidate molecular mechanisms of chromatin regulation in the context of cancer. It entails the development and application of single cell proteomics and mass spectrometry technologies for studies of epigenetic and transcriptional regulation of chromatin. The main focus will be on the development of high-sensitivity bioanalytical technologies for isolation and detailed characterization of chromatin binding proteins, including histones and their post-translational modifications.
You will be part of an international and dynamic research team. You will be motivated to use capillary liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and computational tools and develop new approaches to investigate regulatory events in chromatin biology at the single cell level. You will be responsible for implementing mass spectrometry based technologies for high-sensitivity quantitative studies of proteins and their dynamic post-translational modifications. You will manage independent research projects and assist in the supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.
The position is to be filled by 1 March 2021 or soon thereafter. Application deadline: 20 January 2021.
Qualifications We are looking for a highly motivated, competent and enthusiastic scientist with excellent communication skills.
For consideration, applicants must have:
A recent PhD degree in biochemistry, protein science/proteomics, analytical biochemistry or a similar field
Demonstrated experience in experimental protein biochemistry and mass spectrometry
Interest in the study of bioanalytical technologies and their applications in chromatin biology
Publications in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals
Excellent English speaking, reading and writing skills.
In addition, applicants with one or more of the following types of experience will be preferred:
Working experience with nanoliter flow LC-MS/MS using Orbitrap or Q-TOF instruments
Experience with biochemical characterization of chromatin and the chromatin proteome
Advanced knowledge of physical chemistry and bioanalytical instruments
Computational proteomics and data analysis, including R scripting.
