Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Nutrition and Nanomedicine to Combat Chronic Diseases

The postdoctoral research fellow will work in innovative and transdisciplinary research projects with a theme of applying nanotechnology in nutritional science for combating chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis and others. In addition to continuing the current research projects in Wang’s lab, the fellow is also encouraged in developing new ideas along our main research theme of nanonutritional science.

It is expected that the candidate is strongly self-motivated and to be productive. In addition to research work, the Postdoc fellow will also be mentored and participate in grant application, project management, lab management and student training.

The ideal start date for the position is January 2021, but is negotiable. The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed for subsequent one-year terms, contingent on continued satisfactory performance, the continued availability of funding and the needs of the program, and as long as you are within five years from receipt of your doctoral degree.

Required Qualifications

·      Earned doctorate or equivalent degree in basic sciences, such as PhD in nanomedicine, nutrition, endocrinology, molecular biology, or related fields;

·      Evidence of research background in nanomedicine, chronic diseases, or nutrition science;

·      Evidence of excellence in designing and conducting state-of-art research works.

Desired Qualifications

·      Knowledge and experience of transdisciplinary and translational research;

·      Experience of grant applications and publications in high ranked journals;

·      Strong verbal and writing communication skills and be able to work in a diverse group;

·      Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-motivated;

·      Experience of training students in lab work.
